Fifty-six years later, at the age of 73 Mayer began to paint his childhood memories of prewar life in Opatow, its shtetl character and its Jewish population wiped out entirely by the Holocaust. Sławomir Grünberg (1951)Grünberg studied at the Film School in Lodz. In 1981 he immigrated to USA where he directed and produced over 40 TV documentaries. His film „School Prayer: a Community at War” (1999) has won an Emmy Award. His other title „Fenceline: a Company Town". |
