This is a Soviet documentary about space exploration. This movie explains and realistically pictures the coming age of space travel with technical advise from Mikhail Tikhonravov, soviet pioneer of spacecraft design and rocketry. The film portrays the launching of the first Soviet man into space, the first space station, and the first landing on the moon. Film begins with a dramatised biography of Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, a Russian schoolteacher who founded astronautics, the science of interplanetary flight. Klushantsev showed tremendous ingenuity in explaining and portraying man's conquest of space.
