Dear Friends!
The world's gone crazy!

Sławomir Grunberg’s „Paint What You Remember” will have its world premiere here at Film and Art Festival TWO RIVERSIDES on August 8th.

In 1934 Mayer Kirshenblatt left Poland and settled in Canada. At the age of 73 he started putting his memories from the prewar town of Opatów, on his paintings. With photographic memory he portrayed the prewar shtetl. The paintings were scenes of everyday life of the dwellers of the town, his friends, neighbours and family. Most of them were victims of the Holocaust. The 91-year-old artist visited Opatów, where an exhibition of his paintings was held with an unusual heraldry.

Sławomir Grunberg, a graduate of the Film Directing Department at the Film School in Łódź, is a director, cameraman and producer of documentary films. He has been living in the United States since 1981. He participated in the making of over 40 films and is a laureate of many prestigious awards, e.g. the American EMMY Award and Jan Karski Prize for ‘Courage and Heart’.

See you in Kazimierz!
