Nearly 100 thousand festival-goers will come to Kazimierz Dolny and Janowiec this year. For the third time art and cinema will join the two riversides.

River divides Kazimierz and Janowiec but only geographically. "The Festival is an excellent occasion for both towns to cooperate" - says Grzegorz Dunia, the major of Kazimierz Dolny. Filip, one of the Janowiec dwellers, agrees: "It's become a public holiday in this little town. Not only can you see films in picturesque surroundings but also meet a lot of interesting people visiting our hometown". However Ania, his peer, has a rather different opinion: "The festival programme definitely favors Kazimierz. Only a thin line joins our towns together" - she regrets. The only cinema in Janowiec has been closed fifteen years ago. The "Two Riversides" Festival is a chance to have closer contact both with the art of cinema and its authors. It's a real celebration of cinema" - says Tadeusz Kocoń, prefect of Janowiec commune.
The Janowiec Castle will turn into an outdoor cinema for more than a week. "Throughout the whole week at 9 o'clock in the evening we will be projecting movies from the "I Love Cinema" section. Next to new pictures like '33 Scenes from Life' or 'Gomorra', festival audience will have a chance to see cinema classics including Kurosawa's 'Derusu Uzara' and 'Moscow Distrusts Tears'"- recommends Ania Stadnik from the programme section.
