Power, money and blood – these are the virtues, which people of Napoli and Caserta encounter every day. They don’t have a choice, they must obey rules imposed by “the system” – Camorra. Not many of them may think about “normal” life. Five stories allied in this drastic script, embedded in a cruel and seemingly fictional world, which in fact is deeply rooted in reality.

Matteo Garrone (1968)

In 1996 he was awarded with Sacher award for short „Silhouette”. In 1997 he directed his first feature “Terra di Mezzo”. His next features are: “Ospiti” (1998) and “Estate romana” (2000). In 1998 he also shot documentary “Oreste Pipolo, fotografo di matrimoni”.
