Sound check at "Król Kazimierz" hotel. Where's the driver? He's been waiting for 10 minutes. Ok, one more song and we're going... Do we have to go already? Ah, yes, the interview... Do we have time for that?
Only a couple minutes? Ok, let's sit down...

Tomasz Stokowski: What are we going to hear tonight at the Castle?
Francis Hime: We'll play some Brazilian music. There'll be Bosa Nova, Samba and songs I've composed with artists like Chico Buarque or Viniciuse de Moraes. And of course compositions I wrote for movies, like "Dona Flor And Her Two Husbands' by Bruno Barreto. After all it's a film festival...

T.S.: Have you heard about the TWO RIVERSIDES before?
F.H.: No, I haven't heard about the festival. We've been asked to perform and thanks to that I can be in Poland for the first time. It's an amazing experience for me. Finally I have the opportunity to see places like Warsaw and Cracov.

T.S.: And what after Warsaw and Cracov?
F.H.: After the festival I'm planning to stay in Europe for a couple of days. I'm planning to visit France and see Milton Nascimiento's performance. I'll get back to Brasil afterwards to finish my new album.

T.S.: Have you seen this year's festival logo?
F.H.: I haven't had the chance yet. Let me see... Interesting (laugh). But what is that supposed to be? I can see two people here. They're walking... or maybe riding a horse?

T.S.: And the last question: has the world gone crazy?
F.H.: Yes, it has. But there's art in this world which will help us survive all this madness.

Francis and Olivia Hime with their band are the stars of the Opening Concert on Saturday (1.08), 9:00 p.m. at the castle in Kazimierz Dolny.
