Grga Pitić, gypsy godfather and trade baron of refuse dumps and Zarije, proud owner of a cement mill, they are good, old friends. They haven’t seen each other for 25 years. Both are after eighty years old. Matko Destanov, Zarije’s son is an idler. He asks Pitić for a loan. To grant himself money for an illegal petrol business, he tells Pitić that his father is dead. He chooses for his business partner Dadan Karambolo, addicted king of gypsy cutpurses. He is convinced that with such an ex- pert by his side he won’t put himself in any danger. Unfortunately, on the night of the transport of the petrol something happens and he ends up unconciouss...

Emir Kusturica (1954)

Film director, scriptwriter and actor. His first significant success came in 1981 with a film “Do You Remember Dolly Bell?”. Next pic- ture, “When Father Was Away on Business” gave him international popularity. His other well known movies are: “Time Of The Gypsies”, “Arizona Dream” and “Underground”.
