The Small Cinema *

Poland (PL) 2009, colour, 30 min. dir Renata Gabryjelska Nina (90) and her unmarried daughter Alice (60) live together in a cramped flat. Between their beds is a black piano – a symbol of Alice’s unfulfilled music career. Nowadays they run a dancing group for seniors and their life is focused mainly on this. It seems that work makes up for them the lack of men in their life, but is it really true? Renata GabryjelskaGraduate from a law faculty at the Warsaw University and Warsaw Film School. She attends documentary course in Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing. Her short film “Janek” was awarded on “Youth and Film” Festival in Koszalin. |
