We're building bridges and crossing borders! Brazil is one of the most important places on the festival map. At 9 o'clock at the castle in Kazimierz you'll hear the original bossa nova. It's a rare occasion in Poland to hear artists who created the bossa nova history in Brazil.
At the festival scene you will hear Francis Hime - an outstanding bossa nova artist, whose songs have been performed by musicians like Elis Regina, Milton Nascimiento, Gilberto Gil, Maria Bethania, Gal Costa, Bill Evans and Gaetano Veloso. Francis will play with his wife Olivia and five other musicians.
Hime is famous not only for bossa nova and samba but also for composing film music. For example he made the original soundtrack for Bruno Barreto's film "Dona Flor And Her Two Husbands'. At the TWO RIVERSIDES Festival you'll be able to hear this music live and see the film the next day. Barreto is one of the guests of our festival so you'll be able to meet him personally.
