Doll, Poland (PL) 2009, colour, 19 min. dir Natalia Kostenko „Doll” is a documentary portray about Ryszard Czubak, a man endowed with a personality strong enough to stay himself in a world marking him as a freak, a pervert, someone abnormal and bizarre. Mr. Czubak is a fifty year old transvestite, highly known in Warsaw bohemian life. This film is an attempt to show this colorful character through different contexts. It also tries to answer the disturbing question- what is the truth about the portrayed man and what is his belief about himself? Natalia KostenkoBorn in Warsaw, she spent part of her childhood living in New York. After returning to Poland, she studied psychology at the Warsaw School of Social Psychology. In 2007 she started a new educational path at the Warsaw Film School. |
