Set in the 1950s, the glamorous Anne Devereaux (Zellweger) leaves her philandering band leader husband Dan (Bacon) and takes her two teenage sons on a drive down the Eastern seaboard from city to city in a quixotic search for a wealthy man to support them. Told from the perspective of the younger son, George (Lerman), this timeless comedy unfolds as they make their way across the country, eventually landing in Hollywood where a new life seems possible. Richard Loncraine (1946)Richard Loncraine studied sculpture in London at the Central School of the Arts and Crafts, subsequently taking up studies at the Royal College of Art’s film school. Having begun his career working for the BBC and in advertising, in 1974 he made his first short film and wrote the screenplay for “Professor Popper's Problem”. A filmmaker and television director, he won the Silver Bear in 1996 for “Richard III”.Filmography:
